Berne Gibbons
Berne brings over 40 years of experience in the health sector, spanning clinical care, executive leadership, and national policy influence. A registered nurse turned digital health advocate, she contributes deep expertise in healthcare system transformation, digital standards and enablement, and strategic collaboration across sectors.
In 2018, Berne was recognised among the AFR 100 Women of Influence for her contribution to healthcare innovation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a pivotal role in expanding access to telehealth services through a national campaign. As Head of Business Innovation and Partnerships at InfoMedix, she leads initiatives that accelerate digital maturity across Australian hospitals. She also serves on the Board of Standards Australia and has held directorships with the Digital Health CRC and Continuity of Care Collaboration, advancing national efforts in digital enablement and system transformation.
An Adjunct Professor (Industry) in the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Berne helps shape the next generation of Australia’s health workforce. She holds nursing qualifications from Sydney Hospital and executive credentials from Monash University, Deakin University, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Combining clinical insight, strategic leadership, and policy acumen, she continues to drive the evolution of digital health across Australia and beyond.
